@Surf Just to follow up on this a little, I was trying on Android and it was saying it couldn't find a mastodon instance at death.id.au (my friendica instance) and the Connect button was greyed out.

I tried again on the web, and while the button was still greyed out, I pressed enter and it submitted anyway and actually redirected to the OAuth page for my instance! However, after authorising, it just took me back to the surf.social home page and the account was not connected.

@Surf

My Friendica instance won't connect to some mastodon servers.

My Friendica instance won't connect to certain mastodon servers, such as hachyderm.io, social.lol, or universeodon.com

For example, if I go to contacts and attempt to add @[email protected] as a new contact, I get a message saying "The network type couldn't be detected. Contact can't be added."
Going into the admin webfinger diagnostic and entering [email protected] returns the correct webfinger information. However, when I plug it (or the AP self url) into the admin Probe Diagnostic, I'm missing most of the key information:

So, why is this only for some servers? Why does this same thing not happen on other Friendica instances I've looked at? What is blocking Friendica's probing, and is there a way around it?

Does Friendica support any kind of webhooks?

!Friendica Support
I'd like to set something up so that when I create a post on Friendica I could add something to my website (source in git and automatically built by a static site generator). Is there any sort of webhook support, a plugin with webhook support, or would I have to look into building my own plugin for something like that?

This is my KBDCraft 60% typewriter.

Built from a Kit Lilith, with pieces from case Adam, along with some purchased parts and some I just had lying around. Plus some round "typewriter" keycaps from AliExpress.

It's also mostly hollow, so theoretically I could install a small PC like a Raspberry Pi or a NUC in there. But for now, it's good to use with a tablet.

Can I change the redirect on a single user instance?

!Friendica Support When I set my instance to be a single user instance, that seems to just redirect the root of the domain to my profile page. Is there anywhere I can change that behaviour? For instance, redirecting to a website?

Friendica Support reshared this.

💡 Charlie and the Chocolate factory, but rewritten in the modern day, with modern day sensibilities.
New kids, new fantastic ways for them to get their comeuppance.

Plot twist: it's a sequel. There are stories and legends of what happened to kids in the factory many years ago, including that one kid who never returned and whose whole family disappeared soon after. Story morphs into horror-esque.

Double plot twist "Willy Wonka" is just old Charlie.
